Let’s get weird.

Eddy Ceramics has been my creative outlet since I returned to pottery after an 11 year hiatus in 2021. My body of work encompasses charming, delightful oddities that blend utility and design into everyday art objects. I work primarily on the wheel, making function-forward, traditional shapes that I then alter with vibrant illustrations.

The colorful, painterly imagery on my surfaces is meticulously built up with underglaze - a process that is delightfully thoughtful and meditative.  I then work back through the underglaze using a sgraffito carving technique to reveal the white stoneware clay body beneath. Slowly, a slew of recurring flora and fauna characters begin to emerge from the clay and parade across my mugs, cups, bowls, and platters. I leave no surface unadorned, inviting viewers to explore pieces from multiple angles as each glance reveals new discoveries.

No two designs are alike - an intentional choice. I want anyone who receives one of my creations to feel like they’ve been gifted a bespoke treasure that cannot and will not be replicated again. We all deserve to feel a little special, and I delight in the idea that my functional wares can represent that bright spot in someone’s day.
